It is recommended to see a therapist once per week; however, you can come as often or seldom as you like. Sometimes, insurance companies may have limitations on the number of sessions that they will cover; so it is important to call your insurance and ask about any limitations regarding outpatient mental healthcare.
We also may need to recommend a higher level of care for clients in urgent crisis.
After initial greeting there will be some client paperwork to be completed. We will discuss symptoms and background briefly and you will tell us what you want to achieve in the therapy sessions.
We highly recommend completing the registration paperwork before your appointment, but if that is not possible, we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to complete them.
