The counseling relationship is a partnership that empowers clients to reconnect with their own inner wisdom and find their own answers.
We help you accomplish your goals by helping you answer the following questions…
Who are you?
What is important to you?
How would you feel if your life were just exactly the way you IMAGINED
What gets in your way?
Where do you want to go?
What are your challenges?
The duration & frequency of therapy is up to you
It is recommended to see a therapist once per week; however, you can come as often or seldom as you like. Sometimes, insurance companies may have limitations on the number of sessions that they will cover; so it is important to call your insurance and ask about any limitations regarding outpatient mental healthcare.
We also may need to recommend a higher level of care for clients in urgent crisis.
preparing for your first appointment
After initial greeting there will be some client paperwork to be completed. We will discuss symptoms and background briefly and you will tell us what you want to achieve in the therapy sessions.
what to bring
A photo ID such as a Driver’s license
Your insurance ID card
A method of payment
Your completed registration paperwork
A list of medications you are currently taking
A list of any psychiatric drugs you have tried in the past
Your medical doctor’s contact information
We highly recommend completing the registration paperwork before your appointment, but if that is not possible, we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early to complete them.
